Edit: The new Viper ability 'Parasitic Bomb: Latch onto an air unit, dealing 90 damage over 7 seconds to that unit and any air units around it. Effect persists for the remaining duration if the target is destroyed.' is oddly similar to my idea.. Coincidence?

I wanted to try to make a moth influenced Zerg unit, but not too moth-like. Keep in mind these unit concepts are more for my portfolio, so don't take them too seriously. I guess you could say it's a combination of the Scourge and the Spawn Broodling ability from the SC1 Queen. The Blightling is very small and fast, once it attaches to an enemy air unit, it creates a cloud around the unit. This cloud affects near by enemy units if it is touched. Once infected by the cloud, the unit releases a cloud of its own and can be passed through an entire air army very quickly, in this manner. If the enemy doesn't kill the infected units, these units eventually die and spawn another Blightling.

I'd have the killed units spawn TIMED Blightlings, so you can't make an infinite army of Blightlings.

I was wondering when you were going to come along with another Unit idea, oddly enough I had a similar idea for a flying zerg unit that had a melee range.

The ability is quite op, it would have be scaled back, but otherwise I think it's an interesting unit that would do well in the campaign, and is certainly more creative than anything blizzard has come up with thus far...

"Good news everyone" I believe i have a solution to this unit...

Make it able to burrow...

I know this sounds crazy but think about the implications, It can now surprise attack your enemy's flying deathball of mutalisks/void rays/banshees, and can avoid certain anti-air attacks as a form of anti- drop defense.

Then all you need to do is make it a relatively glass cannon (50 hp, 0 armor), one that is positioned properly will cause terrible terrible damage on your enemies.

Of course, this would have to mean that it's movement speed be slightly lower than most flying units.

As for the spawn blightling mechanic, the blightling should have to remain attached to the target unit for an amount of time equal to the amount of HP the unit has (Battle cruisers take longer than vikings to infect)

During this time your opponent has to kill the blightling, but due to it's close proximity with it being melee range and all; by damaging the blightling, you damage the targeted unit as well.
