The Split Second Before Oh Fuk

Did this for my painting three class in college. This is your basic StarCraft painting of a Hydralisk about to pierce its sythe through a Marine's skull. What I loved about the idea was it's the split second before the Marine knows the Hydralisk was hiding in the dark. The top center is supposed to be the Hydralisks arm's joint connecting to the faint sythe right above the marines head. I should have made the arm more ambiguous, it's catching to much light and it comes off a little confusing.

I really enjoyed painting for once, I had fun with this. Painting three allows you to paint what ever you want, providing the teachers let you do it. So even though I'm going to a fine arts college, I'm diving into illustration anyway. The way I see it, if people are gonna paint... what ever and call it art, why can't I make "what ever" and make it damn cool as well.
